Why Abundance Doesn't Start With Money

María Teresa Morales··5 min

When people talk about abundance, the conversation almost always narrows down to money. But financial abundance, without a solid inner foundation, tends to feel insufficient no matter how much the number grows.

Real abundance starts with worthiness: genuinely believing you have the right to receive without having suffered enough first to 'earn it.' Many women unknowingly sabotage growth opportunities because deep down they don't feel worthy of them.

It also starts with identity. Someone who identifies with lack—even when the numbers say otherwise—will keep making decisions from fear that there won't be enough, from distrust, from the need to control everything. Identity abundance almost always precedes sustainable material abundance.

Clarity is another central component. It's hard to receive abundance in any area without clarity on what you actually want. Abundance without direction scatters; abundance with purpose multiplies.

Working on your relationship with money, then, doesn't necessarily start in a spreadsheet. It starts with deeper questions: do I feel worthy? What story about myself do I keep repeating every time an opportunity arrives? Answering that honestly is often the step that actually moves the needle.
